Member of the National System of Art Creators (SNCA), Mexico. For six years, he wrote under the gaze of Vicente Leñero in the literary workshop Only Thursdays, while developing his career as a film editor working with directors such as Carlos Carrera, Gabriel Ripstein, Lourdes Grobet and Ernesto Contreras.
A fellow of the Tribeca Film Institute, he is the author of a quintet of film scripts, among which his debut feature Feral stands out, winner of the FIPRESCI Prize (International Federation of the Cinematographic Press), the competition prize at the LosCabos International Film Festival and the Best Director awards at RIFF Oslo and Feratum Film Fest.
As a writer, his book of short stories, The burning bush, was awarded with the Manuel José Othón Prize for Literature and published by Editorial Atrasalante, sharing a catalog with authors such as Antonio Gamoneda, Julián Herbert, Claudia Domingo and Juan Gelman.
He is currently working on Precious Blood, his next fiction feature film which tells the story of a demonic possession in 18th century Mexico, as well as in the post-production of The Invisible Seed, a documentary film nourished by splendid and complex family footage.
